King's Cross Cafe is a Harry Potter themed cafe which heavily focuses on the vibes from the shopping district of the wizardry streets. They own the whole building and there are 7 floors in total. The basement is a pub called Hog's Head Inn and the other floor levels are mainly the cafe's dining areas.
Don't forget to look into the window for cute display items!
Before you enter the cafe, be sure to take a picture at the side of the building with the iconic wall and luggage trolley! Coming at non-peak hours allows you to pose longer without anyone waiting in the queue.
Level 1
Magical Liquid Medicine // Dessert & Food
Upon entering the cafe, you will be greeted by the sight of the staircase to nowhere along with shelves full of wand boxes. You can totally take pictures on the staircase as long as you don't damage the items on it.
Right next to the staircase, you will see a sign and a barricade which states that you must order 1 beverage in order to enter and take photos.
Ordering Counter
On top of the dessert fridge display, you will see that they do sell wands here but there's only one type and it's not even a specific character's version of a wand. If you ask me, even with discounts, I still wouldn't be able to afford it since it's so expensive.
The desserts are pretty much decent looking. There is also the Hagrid's Birthday Cake available for sale and for dining in the cafe. I wouldn't order it if there aren't 3 more other people with me though.
There are also pretzels and doughnuts here along with multiple choices of juices.
Nearby the cashier counter, you can also find some Harry Potter inspired accessories.
If you look over the accessories, you will also find the Sorting Hat itself and a menu. The pricing is actually a little bit pricier than what I would've expected but hey, experiences, am i rite? Also, everything here should be Halal and they don't sell alcohol in the cafe. They do sell alcohol in the pub though.
Once you've ordered, they will give you a buzzer and you can pick up your items at the Pick Up counter right next to the cashier. The waiting time isn't very long so you can stand and wait for them before you find a seat inside unless it's a peak season.
I ordered a Sweet Wizard Beer and my travelling partner ordered a Wizardry Pink Aide, I think.
The Sweet Wizard Beer is actually Caramel Frappe with gold flakes on it. It's a little smoother though but honestly, I'd prefer they don't sell a caffeinated version for the Sweet option because most kids would prefer sweeter version over the original version but ngeh, oh well. The pink aide is almost like lemonade with a little bit of berry taste, that's all.
Their wifi password though. Siriusly would make me cry if I just finished watching the movie. Anyway, once you've gotten your order, you can enter the dining area through this door.
There's a display table and a bookshelf.
On the left, you will also find a huge mirror for you to take selfies and of course, I took the opportunity because why not?
Staircases
Level 2
Wizard Cafe
This is just a dining area for people who didn't want to go further up to the other floors. It's very open and has more lights in as compared to other higher levels.
This is also because it has an open area which connects to the entrance on the first floor.
There's also a huge dining area here in case you are with a bigger crowd. Some floors has washroom at the side of the staircase too.
Level 3
Banquet Hall
Honestly, I don't know who thought this was a great idea but I freaked out when I saw it because I was afraid that it jumps out very quickly but it's actually not like that. It has a very low sensitivity detection and only detects when you are near the barricade. It also only comes out halfway. However, please don't try if you are prone to heart attacks.
This is also another area for you to dine in. I personally think that it's very suitable for large events because of how big this place is and that they used long tables and chairs instead.
If you use the long tables and chairs, chances are, you have to share the table with many other people.
Level 4
Wizard Dormitory
This is the floor where you can wear the robes and take pictures with it. Now here's the catch: they only have one robe for each house and you can only take pictures with it for 3 minutes. Of course, you can totally disregard it during non-peak hours but if you see someone waiting already, just hurry up with your photo shoots and let other people have the chance for theirs. It's a basic courtesy.
This area is filled with many photo shooting props and decorations. You don't really have to worry about not being able to take pictures with cool things around.
By the way, the dining tables here are actually on top of a bed frame and it's actually kind of interesting but I didn't get to experience it since I already drank the beverage before coming to this area.
They also have a mirror for you to check yourself out.
Make use of everything available there!
Living Room zone? Checked!
Christmas Zone? Checked!
Sorting hat? Checked!
Harry's glasses? Double checked!
Telephone on the wall? Double checked too!!
Selfies? Triple checked!!!
Okay, okay. Enough of myself. Let's move forward.
Level 5 & 6
Basically prohibited zone and we didn't get to visit.
Elevator
Well, could we all just look at how amazingly done the elevator is. The decoration is literally on point with the theme! Oh, I'm only showing you this after the staircase because we climbed upstairs but now we decided to just not climb downstairs. (Well, mostly me.)
Basement
Hog's Head Inn (Pub & Cafe)
When we were there, the location was open for visitations but it wasn't open for business so we couldn't order anything. Besides, my travelling partner was very eager to leave this place so I really didn't get to take in a lot of the pub's aesthetics but here are some of the pictures that I managed to take.
It's a basement and there's no window so it can be a little bit eerie here.
Even worse when I saw the display items looking like sacrificial tools for rituals.
Here you have the famous hog head mount and oooh there's a small stage here too!
That's all for this post!
