Review | Colourpop Whatever Palette & Lashes (Mami, Queenie, Ms.)

Hollie Cow, I bought these before the Jeffree Star Cosmetics Conspiracy Palette but I haven’t gotten the motivation to complete this review until now. I’m pretty glad I took the time to relax for a bit though because I actually enjoy these new photos that I have taken. I was actually having trouble to be “creating” contents for a while. I don’t know, I felt very lethargic even though it doesn’t seem like I was doing much.

Anyway, this haul is a self-purchased batch and it was made immediately after the lashes were released back in November 2019. I purchased two palettes because I wanted to gift one to my friend and it felt very much like her vibe in terms of the colour story. She loved the colour shade names too, which is great :D

Shopping tips: Occasionally, there would be 10%-20% sale and you can always search for influencer codes to purchase on Colourpop. In a not-so-rare occasion, Colourpop would even go as far as having a 30% sale!

A great reminder that all of the Colourpop products are meant to be cruelty-free and vegan! Unless they have special formulas but I never heard of them going off the cruelty-free and vegan route before, so it probably would not happen at all.

Let’s quickly walk through the minor products before we head straight into the palettes. In this haul, I purchased 3 pressed powder shadows which one of them was released in the same batch as the Whatever palette. I also got a small casing for the eyeshadows. At the same time, Colourpop felt that they were shipping the products out late so they gifted me a lip gloss which is (luckily) a pretty colour.

Review| Jeffree Star x Shane Dawson Conspiracy Palette

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaas! Your girl got herself a CONSPIRACY PALETTE. It wasn’t easy to get it. I was already waiting at the site by 9:58am PST (11:58pm Malaysia time) on the launching day and the website crashed even by then. Then, I’ve lined up for 2 hours and got kicked out [twice]. After that, I tried it again [twice] but when I get to the check out point, I couldn’t order the bundle and the remaining item in my cart was a single Conspiracy Palettes that was for my friend.

Luckily, I used my phone to queue up as well. So I get to order 2 palettes but separately, which means I have to pay for $10 shipping fee twice side from the $52 for each palette. Around 3pm PST (5am Malaysia Time), the majority of the items were already sold out. The palettes and mirrors were definitely gone. I went to sleep and woke up to see an Instagram post from JSC that the whole collection has been sold out!

Honestly, I should have ordered from MORPHE AU site when I could but my dumb ass took my time to shop for eyelashes (I’m obsessed). It was sold out by the time I’ve decided to check out. That’s why I had to purchase from the Jeffree Star Cosmetics instead. Shipped them to the Ezbuy warehouse and worried about it from 1st of November until 1st of December. Got my parcel delivered by a very nice Ninja Van rider and I quickly opened it to see if there are any broken pieces. There are no defects! *sigh of relief* It’s great to know that my approximately RM300 (palette + shipping + delivery + exchange rate) was not thrown into the sea for nothing. It was a bet to use Ezbuy for the shipment though. Alright, now that we have the palette, let’s take a closer look into it.

Review | Em Cosmetics True Gloss [ALL] and Black Illustrative Eyeliners [Brush, Felt, Gel]

Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored blog post or are these purchased. These are gifted as a Giveaway gift and even so, I still had some bad experiences with them but this blog post will remain bias-less just the way I want my blog to be.

Yo. I waited for these items for 3 months and more. It was a long wait with lots of following ups but I finally got it. There's also one item missing because apparently "it's out of stock and it's not important to include it into the parcel since it's just a giveaway."

Heads up: If you stay in Malaysia, China, France, Russia or Spain, don't even bother thinking about buying it because they literally said they won't ship it there. They were reluctant to send me my gifts after knowing I'm from Malaysia but hey, they wrote in their IG Giveaway post that it's open to all the international participants. Not my fault there.

Even if you're not within the list, you might still want to double consider before purchasing because they're -apparently- not liable for anything including lost/damaged packages caused by shipping carriers because they're only responsible until your parcel leaves their warehouse facility. This was stated on their website.

Upon receiving

I got a giant box that ships internationally within 3 working days (aka super expensive shipping fee) and it was very light. I do believe that this size was not necessary since the items were all smaller products.

When I opened it, the products were all underneath the box without bubble wrap... What happens if anything is broken eh? I'm concerned because this is a giveaway parcel, not a PR package or ordered parcel. PIC probably wasn't thinking much when she instructed someone to pack this parcel... While I was panicking, I opened up all the products and -wew- they dusty.

Every lippie coming out of the box was covered in white dust, which worries me even more because what if this is an old stock??

Packaging

There was no expiry date or manufacturing date available on the packaging as well. I personally dislike it when companies do not print the dates on the packaging because I need to know when these are made.

Take A Look & Review| Althea A'bloom Launch and Review

Althea's A'Bloom launch was hosted on a Saturday afternoon (20th April 2019) at Softsrve Ice Cream, Dessert & Balloon Bar and it was their very first physical launching party with quite many attendances (30-60 people if I'm not mistaken). The theme, which was quite obvious, was pink! Everything during the event was matched nicely with pink colour as well.

Aside from the "main characters," Althea had also set up stations and booths for everyone who had not tried their other products to try and understand them better by giving a real-life testing experience.

On the display table, there are two sets of items for almost every product. You can see their rose body mist, Real Fresh Skin Detox, cleansing oil, sunblock and bubbling milk mask on their displaying table. If you are curious about these products, you can read them up from my blog posts to know more about them as Althea doesn't have a physical store for you to trial and test.

If you are a new user, you can get a discount with my referral link!

They also have their very new Waterful Green Bamboo Pads and their Calming Cream products, which works amazingly with sensitive and dehydrated skin (aka my skin too).

In the meantime, they also had photographers on the day to take pictures of the event and us! :D

Food

Food makes everything better, so having to work with Softsrve was actually a pretty good idea. They have certain items on the menu for the day, such as lychee ice cream, charcoal waffles, watermelon soda and lemon soda to fit the theme of A'bloom's new products.

Every one of us has a redeem card and while I'd love to redeem everything, I just had a heavy lunch before going to the event. However, someone ordered the waffle though and they said it was actually good (very filling as well).

Well, I couldn't eat the waffle but I could definitely eat the ice cream! It was lychee mixed with vanilla flavour and the combination is actually good. Lychee is actually not my go-to flavour but after this, I think I could give it a "go" whenever I see it. I've tried Softsrve's mango ice creams and they are amazing as well.

We also ordered soda. I had lemon soda whilst the girls have watermelon soda. They taste just nice without being too sweet. Quite refreshing too especially when it was a hot and humid day, following rain during one of the hours when we were there.

Althea also had other food prepared for us and they look yummy but I really couldn't find a space in my tummy to try them. My lunch was really heavy.
