Mascaras!
One of the things that makes me love+hate at the same time.Simply because it's such a magical thing to make your eyes pop and pretty but at the same time, very difficult to wash it off, especially when your makeup remover isn't strong enough.
This time, I decided to take the chance and try Kate's Visual Long Lash... since I needed a new tube of mascara ehehehhehehheeheheh.
-is a lovely brand from Japan, which is imported to Malaysia by the famous Kanebo Cosmetics.
I haven't done much research on this product yet but recently I found out that this mascara was the rising 'hit' of cosmetics in Japan.
As mentioned in my Cosme blog post, I found out about this product from a highly credible beauty show from Taiwan called 女人我最大 (Queen). This show is very popular among Taiwan cosmetics and skin care lovers. Not only that they talk about cosmetics and makeup, but they also talk about clothings, bags, shoes and accessories too. Sometimes they will give out tips to audiences about where to get the best//cheapest items in different places//countries.
Then, to make sure that this product is as worthy as the Beauty Maker, Kevin, had said, I went to Cosme to check out it's ranking and found out that it was ranking up within weeks.
So those are the reasons why this product made my heart itchy.
I wanted to try it so badly!
Since I couldn't find it cheaper online, I went to Watsons in Midvalley to grab a pack.
Currently they are selling it at the price of Rm53, no discount. Nadah.
The package did not claim it to be "waterproof" but instead, "fade resistant."
There's also three types of fiber on the wand.
Going from 3mm Straight, 3mm Curled and 4mm Curled
The moment I open this tube, my first thought was: "This is gonna end really messy".
What I meant was, if this tube of mascara dries off, the wand is going to look really really messy with fibers everywhere.
So, hopefully it's not gonna be as bad as the makeup samples on the drugstore department counters.
Here's a close up to the wand it self.
You can see that the tip is sort of messy. The fiber won't go off even if I tried to slide it off with the opening of the tube. It either gets build up or there's another new fiber sticking to it.
The wand itself has a curve, which they claim that it will "catch all the eyelash bases and corner."
Before I show you how it looks like after trying it on, here are two photos of my left eye (which is on the right side of the photos below) that has totally no mascara or eyelash essence on.
This is my natural eyelash.
It's fine and thin so usually it won't be noticeable when I draw thicker eyeliner lines.
The photos below are my first trial on my right eye (in this case, it should be on the left side of the photos).
I glided the wand a couple of times and I don't seem to see much obvious fiber sticking out.
(Which is good)
NOTE: I did not curl my eyelashes on both sides.
Again, on your left side is my eyelash with mascara, which the other side has nothing at all.
From the four photos above, you cans see how the other eye without mascara is less 'eyepopping.'
But anyways, I find that it doesn't clump the tip of my lashes a bit.
Feels a bit like how my lashes has decreased.
But anyhow, I tried to use the weakest makeup removing sheet that I have and try to wipe it off.
It took me very few wipes to get it off.
I even made sure that it was clean with Biore makeup remover and nope, I don't see any black stain on the cotton. So I guess it's a plus over there.

Review Criteria (First Impression version):
Price: ★★★☆☆
Packaging: ★★★★☆
Colors availability: ★☆☆☆☆
Soap-proof: ★☆☆☆☆
Oil-proof (with coconut oil): ★★☆☆☆
Waterproof (with rubbing): ☆☆☆☆☆
Waterproof (without rubbing): ★★★☆☆
Smudge-proof: ★★★★☆
Makeup removing: Very easy
Fiber: Very thin, not so visible
Length: Quite acceptable, not too dramatic
Color-darkness: Pitch black
Volume: Not much, didn't thicken much either.
Conclusion: The price of mascara at Rm53 seem to be somewhere above average. The packaging of the tube itself was pretty cool but the box packaging looked a bit like a horror-movie merchandise. Since there's no claim for it to be waterproof, it wasn't so disappointing to realize how easy it was to rub it off while running with tap water. (Swimming pool NOT friendly). I swatched it on the back of my arm and noticed that the fibers are really, really thin. One of the down part is that if the mascara dries off, the possibility of it being a messy-tip wand is quite high.
That's all for this post!
I hope you find this helpful and I'll see ya on the next blog post!
