Upon entrance, we got to take a solo shot just like every other Butterfly Project events :D But I'm not a good poser and I looked so bloated the entire day HAHAHA It's okay, I shall divert the attention to the venue now.
Venue: The Happ Cafe, PJ. | Facebook| Instagram
Before leaving the office for the event, I did a quick search and tried to locate the cafe. I couldn't find it through Google Street View so I thought I should try to find it whilst I was driving. As I was passing by the location, I couldn't see the cafe at all so I quickly redirected waze to Tropicana Avenue and found it eventually. (I've already submitted an edit to
The parking was decently priced, at RM1 for the first three hours and RM1 for the subsequent hours. It has quite a lot of parking spaces during weekends since not many people would visit that place. I found a parking space very quickly but a quick advice: take picture of where you get out of the parking lot. You might get confused as there are a few similar looking entrances at the same spot.
This 1.5 stories cafe itself looked so bright and fresh (unlike WonderMilk) and it has a mini florist shop at the side. They have some flowers in the fridge and they do offer bakeries here. I didn't manage to explore their menu as my attention span was limited to the event only 😅
Ask Joey did an amazing job with the decoration and they offered really amazing fruit tarts! They are MOIST and NOT DRIED and SWEET and CRUNCHIE omg it's hard to find a bakery supplier with such quality. I also like their macaroons, they are really, really good.
Though I'm not a big fan of the cakes as they are drier than when they were baked. The taste is good tho, just not a fan of dry cakes. I didn't get to take the popsicle pop because many people took em before I did.
Some of the desserts are here too. The brownies are also dried :( Aside from desserts, the food was amazing. I freaking look the baguette with smoked salmon and the fried wonton. They replenished food whenever we finished them too! Really efficient :D
As the party begins, every butterfly members were seated and waited patiently for the emcees to begin the event.
I was seated near the 'stage' area with Ridley and Sharon before Nicole arrived.
In front of our seats, there were a few sets of LipAddict™ lip treatment glosses with the complete colour ranges along side with a makeup remover, some swabs and cotton pads.
Everyone got so excited when the day arrived! I was already there before 2pm and secured myself a parking space right outside the venue heheh. Upon entering Wondermilk in Damansara Uptown, the sight of Mira was so relieving because she was calm and assertive when she was signing everyone up before entering the event site. She even remembered me, which was so nice to know :D
Look at the queue! Everyone was so excited for the party to start. My friends and I were discussing about how extravagant everyone looked while our gang still remain potatoes since last year HAHHAH
First thing that we did before settling down was to take the "Entrance Photo." Our Top-Tier photographer, Eros Si, was in-charge for photography of the day!

Do read the product introduction before purchasing to know if it suits you :)
A couple of days ago, the news about heavy metal traces found in the products of several of AmorePacific's brands dropped and everyone started to feel worried about their items. I personally had purchased a couple of the same exact eyebrow pencils from Etude House and was worried too.
Why you should be worried?
Antimony is a naturally occurring element which can be found in trace amounts in drinking water. According to a study, on average we take in about 5 micrograms of antimony a day from our food and water. South China Morning Postreports that antimony was found at levels between 10.1 parts per million (ppm) to 14.3ppm in these 13 cosmetic products, despite the maximum legal limit of 10ppm given by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. Too much of antimony could be poisonous to our body.
Etude House Malaysia's Clarification
Upon checking in with Etude House Malaysia through Facebook private messaging, this is what they had clarified to me:
The products subjected to recall are mostly distributed in Korea. Only a small portion of Etude House AC Cleanup Mild Concealer was distributed to Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, and Myanmar, where full refunds and exchanged are also available.
Drawing Eyebrow Duo #03 Gray Brown (Serial Number GLG, exp 17 Dec 2020): Etude House does not distribute in Etude House Malaysia stores.
AC Clean Up Concealer: the current affected batch (Serial Number AAH, exp 08 Jan 2021) is not released to their stores in Malaysia, they only carry EFG batch.
The affected products were manufactured and supplied by Hwasung Cosmetics, one of Amorepacific's subcontractors.
It is suspected that the traces of excessive antimony occurred during the manufacturing process by the ODM contractor Hwasung and was voluntarily reported to the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.
Etude House cares about the highest standard of quality and all their official stores (retail and upcoming Official Lazada Malaysia store) will adhere to the same standards. Ensuring the safety and quality of all products is of utmost importance to them.
If you have further concerns, please do visit their stores and speak to their consultant who would be able to explain further.
Screenshots as per below:
So this means I'm not affected as my items were serial-coded with EBF and NDF. Guess I'm safe with my eyebrow pencils. But that doesn't mean you could be safe too, especially if you didn't buy those products from the Malaysia Official Stores. Remember to check your serial code a.s.a.p.! You can find it right below the expiry date located at the cap. Took me a while to find since the font colour was dark, as well as the cap.
Do note that every batch is different due to multiple variables such as batch formulas for different country standards, batch production time, etc. Singapore was affected so Etude House Singapore is currently asking for product recalls. So if you've gotten yours from Singapore, be sure to switch up your product items with the official stores in Singapore.

Powder Puff Lippie (Lip Cream) in Puppy Love [PPL02] RM38 | 12ml / 0.4 fl. oz.
I had the privilege to be a VVIP to participate the event of NYX Professional Makeup's Third Store Opening Ceremony in Sunway Pyramid on the 1st of February and they were so generous because they gave discounts the first 200+ customers! This one here is one of the products that I've gotten and do check out my haul at the bottom of this post!
NYX said: "Pucker up and powder your pout! Featuring a pillowy cushion-applicator, our new Powder Puff Lippie Powder Lip Cream goes on mousse-y and sets to a powdery soft finish. Achieve a flush of colour in eight vibrant shades—from warm peach to true red, and hot pink to cool plum—for an irresistible, just-kissed look."
This lippie is a 12ml product that has a sleek body and matte packaging. It's actually pretty nice to hold it hahaha
The colour is in PPL02 aka Puppy Love or Amore D'Adolescent in French hahaha. I really do love this name, especially in French. It fits this colour so dang welllllll!
It's not a surprise that anything related to Unicorns can be a trend, such as highlighters, clothing, bags and even makeup brushes! One of the greatest hype of all is the Tarte's Unicorn makeup brush set. Of course, Tarte is a great but expensive brand so not many people can actually afford a set of those gorgeous brushes. However, Wanderlust has 2 different sets of unicorn makeup brushes that could satisfy you, which are the face set (5pcs) and eye set (10pcs).
Now I am an experienced online shopper, so, definitely, I'll check Taobao for the exact brush set and check out their prices (I did the same for the HP Wand Brushes too). Sure, Taobao is cheaper but are their quality better? Hard to tell. Despite everything, Wanderlust is a brand that guarantees their product quality because they always do quality check before shipping out. Now that is why it is worth so much. For Rm89.00, not only that you have kept yourself from shady sellers but you've also saved yourself from all the shipment troubles (especially if you want to return items but the process is complicated.)
These brushes are mainly for faces and since I'm not a frequent user of makeup brushes, I can't really differentiate the bigger ones. The smallest one is obviously contour brush haha.
This set includes:
powder brush, foundation brush, contour brush, highlight brush and blush brush
Let me know if I'm wrong but I'm really just assuming the names of the brushes now ;_;
Foundation Brush
8.5 inch
Extremely soft bristles
Powder Brush
8.5 inch
Extremely soft bristles
Contour/Blush Brush
7.5 inch
Mid-soft bristles
Contour/Blush Brush
7.5 inches
Mid-soft bristles
Contour Brush
7 inch
Medium-Hard Bristles
The bristles of these brushes are surprisingly very soft! It is almost as if they were harvested from a real unicorns :o The handles also have a certain texture which makes it nice to hold em. The entire set of brushes doesn't have that 'heavy weight' feeling that could turn the experience of using these brushes into a luxurious but the bristles alone are already a bonus.
While it's obvious that the handles are in pastel purple, the colours of the bristles aren't all pastels. Quite frankly, they have some ugly yellow in it. Definitely would be a lot better if there isn't yellow in it or if they've decided one colour for the whole thing. Simplistic is sometimes the best choice.
The whole set doesn't have the bulky feeling to it when you hold them together. What's more is that they look even more like a unicorn horn like this. (Possibly because the individual handles aren't 'fat' enough hahahha)
I thought of a little test to show you how each brushes work when you apply them with makeup onto your face (or skin). Basically, I'll be using foundation as my test material. I would avoid powdery materials because powder does not have a thick texture to it, thus it fails to show how each brushes would work when there is a higher level of friction.
Below is the demonstration for the test:
From the picture below, it is actually hard to see the results clearly but the main result is this:
- The smaller brushes have better results as the bristles are strong enough to withstand the friction caused by the thickness of the foundation's consistency. The end result is that they are consistent with the product's concealing coverage quality and the skin does not have any patchy effects.
-The larger brushes, on the other hand, have poorer results, showing inconsistent patches here and there. The bristles are not strong enough to allow the user to apply the makeup evenly on her/his face. The weak bristles could be resulted by the thickness of the bristles (too thin) and/or the length of the bristles (too long).
Below is the demonstration, showing how soft the larger brushes are:
Below is the demonstration, showing that the smaller brushes are much stiffer as compared:
After the test, I tried to wash the brushes but the metal part is easily stained and the water marks won't go away unless I wipe them. The foundation is also kinda hard to wash off... (I washed them a lot of times...)
That's all for the Unicorn Makeup Brushes!
Let's move on to the other set: Harry Potter Wand Makeup Brushes!
1. I love the idea of the HP world but I'm not a huge HP fan
2. The HP wands are for my friend's girlfriend.
But I got the permission to play with it so there we have it, a review but not exactly a review because its more like an unboxing section. Huehue. Anyway, the brushes do have a certain amount of weight on em, making them feel kinda luxurious. The bristles are not as soft as the Unicorn brushes but they are definitely stiffer (in the good way)
The packaging that it came from is just a plastic case. So nothing much about it.
The handles of these brushes are in the colour of gun-metal, which suits them very well. The size of the brushes are actually (and surprisingly) smaller than expected. Each set has a shader brush, tapered brush, blending brush, packing brush and liner/brow brush.
Left to right:
Hermoine Granger, Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Voldemort, Albus Dumbledore
Honestly, while I was editing the photos below, I kept messing up because I have the associate each brush head to the wand haha. The easiest to remember is Hermoine's. Her's is a brow/liner brush.
Albus Dumbledore
Blending Brush
Voldemort
Shader Brush
Ron Weasley
Tapered Brush
Harry's Wand
Packing Brush
Hermoine Granger
Liner / Brow Brush
I had the opportunity to wash them and they are fairly easy to be washed. The handles doesn't have any water marks or stain on them after washing them.
I saw this in gold colour and my friend's birthday was coming so I decided to buy it for her. I mean, the "profit from this sale will go to SPCA Melaka and Shikin Team Animal Rescue (STAR)," and I wanted to help so. This is like, the perfect item to buy for her.
The necklace is all gold. I'm not sure about the length but the demo picture on the website made it looked kinda short. I haven't seen my friend wearing it so I'm not completely sure about it.
Wanderlust has more CatDog Charity items available in their website, feel free to check em out.
Hello, reader. Kindly be informed that this website will serve as an archive for my main blog site. In the meantime, do feel free to check out my other stuff here.
